The Tāmaki Transformation Programme area includes the Auckland suburbs of Glen Innes, Pt England and Panmure. The mana whenua of the area represented on the Board are Ngāti Whātua o Ōrākei and Ngāti Paoa. With a proud and rich history, strong community spirit and idyllic location the area is earmarked for significant growth and opportunity over the next 30 years.

    The community is multicultural with a strong community spirit that comes from people knowing and caring about their neighbours and neighbourhood.

    Trains from the Glen Innes station provide a less than 15 minute journey to the heart of Auckland City. Over one third of the population are under the age of 15 years adding to the vibrancy and energy of area. With 11 schools and neighbouring University of Auckland Tāmaki Innovation Campus the area is well represented in educational services.

    Two town centres provide a massive opportunity for economic development. Housing in the area is currently dominated by state housing and plans are underway to better utilise the land and provide better community facilities that meet the needs of the people who live here now and in the future.
